Hi there! Thank you for visiting us. The SHE DID THAT_FOOD culinary brand was created to inspire and empower Black women, teens, and girls on their wellbeing journey, particularly the area of plant-based nutrition, cooking and eating.
SHE DID THAT_FOOD is a culinary brand, a subsidiary of LLBJ Culinary and Wellness Enterprises LLC. LLBJ is a culinary nutrition and wellness start-up. Both were created in 2017 by Dr. Fiona B. Lewis, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and Plant-Based Chef.
Our food philosophy is summarized in these 6 pillars:
- Food is love made visible
- Food is family and community
- Food is fun and celebratory
- Food is Medicine
- Food is culture and history
- Food is politics and power
This perspective of food has been the guide for all our activities. Through our products and services, we seek to connect with our consumers around these six pillars. The products and services offered through the SHE DID THAT_FOOD brand focuses on plant-based nutrition education, cooking and eating; empowering consumers through nutrition education and skill-building (i.e. entertainment and health-focused cooking classes, workshops, seminars).
Our first consumer product is a line of seasoning blends created to encourage consumers to enjoy their consumption of plant-foods (i.e. fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains, beans, peas, lentils). BRAND NEW FLAVOR is a line of 16 seasoning blends which are divided into 4 collections, Curry Trio, Simple Vegan, Flavored Vegan, and Southern Vegan. The seasoning blends are made and packaged in the USA.
It is my pleasure to serve you. My educational background includes a Doctorate in Public Health from Loma Linda University, a Master of Science in Nutrition and Wellness from Andrews University. In 2007, I became a nationally credentialed Registered Dietitian.
Since 2007, I have worked in hospitals, and home care settings doing nutrition counseling and coaching, creating and implementing nutrition and wellness programs. I have also created and taught college-level nutrition and wellness courses, and coordinated academic nutrition and health promotion programs at universities.
Additionally, I am a professionally trained plant-based chef. One of my greatest joys is to connect with individuals and groups around food and cooking.
